There was so much love at Katie’s and Lucas’ autumn Hotel Monaco wedding in Washington, DC – not the least of which were the gorgeous fiery colors! This beautiful celebration gave us an opportunity to play with blooms in yellows, oranges, and reds as far as the eye could see!
For the ceremony, Katie carried a French hand-tied bouquet designed with yellow cymbidium orchids, bi-color Circus roses, mango mini-callas, yellow ranunculus, bi-color yellow/red dahlias and yellow spray roses, with touches of sage green seeded eucalyptus. White, double-faced satin ribbon was wrapped around the bouquet in a criss-cross fashion for an added touch of elegance and formality.
A striking and sunny arrangement of curly willow branches, orange and yellow gladiola, cream stock, yellow mokara orchids and orange Chinese lanterns welcomed guests at the escort card table as they arrived at the hotel. Katie and Lucas were married under a simple, classic chuppah constructed of four corner poles, covered with sleeves of natural white silk crepe fabric and a canopy of the same material. We accented the front corners of the chuppah with posies of yellow mokara orchids, Circus roses, mango callas, yellow spray roses and yellow ranunculus. Guest tables were outfitted with glass cylinder vases, filled with a mixed-bloom design in varying shades of yellow and orange. We incorporated many of the same beautiful florals used throughout the wedding, to stunning effect. The couple’s breathtaking wedding cake was crowned with orange and yellow blooms we provided.
Thank you, Katie and Lucas, for allowing us to design your flowers in such delicious hues! Best wishes for a lifetime of happiness!
