As a floral designer, few things are more exciting than getting to work with vivid colors and unexpected blooms – we got to do just that at Hope’s and Jason’s jewel-toned Carlyle Club wedding, right in our own back yard in Alexandria, Virginia. Hope’s bridal bouquet, in particular, was a dream to design, with the most gorgeous jewel tones of burgundy, deep pink, purple, eggplant, and fuchsia. We tucked in everything from dahlias to spray roses, garden roses to scabiosa, calla lilies to anemone and more. For Hope’s bridesmaids, we used many of the same beautiful blooms to create stunning bouquets that perfectly complemented their emerald gowns. Fuschia roses made for perfect boutonnieres for Jason and the rest of the men in the wedding party.
At the jewel-toned Carlyle Club wedding reception, the guest tabled were decked out with organic, “almost rustic” but definitely elegant centerpieces in two distinct designs. Rounded arrangements of roses, spray roses, scabiosa, dahlias, thistle, callas, and stock – reminiscent of the bridesmaids’ bouquets – in square glass vases were displayed at many of the tables. On the smaller banquette tables, we provided smaller-scale versions of these arrangements in medium-height rectangular vases. For a sweet finale, we adorned Hope’s and Jason’s wedding cake with a festive floral crown of the same jewel-toned blooms.
Thank you, Hope and Jason, for engaging us to create your breathtaking wedding flowers! Congratulations again!
