Trevor and Jermaine’s wedding at the Salamander Resort in Middleburg, Virginia, embraced fall color in a way that felt elegant, joyful, and completely personal. Rich burgundy flowers, warm oranges, touches of golden yellow, and layered greenery transformed the reception into an intimate celebration that balanced sophistication with a relaxed autumn atmosphere.
Rather than leaning into muted neutrals, the floral palette celebrated the richness of the season. Burgundy roses and fall-toned hydrangea mixed with orange spray roses, rust-toned chrysanthemums, berries, autumn foliage, and fresh green textures that created arrangements that felt lush and organic without becoming heavy. The overall effect felt gathered and natural, almost as though the flowers had been collected directly from a late October garden.
One of the most striking floral moments came from the two oversized urn arrangements, each positioned at the reception’s entry points. Overflowing with fall antique burgundy hydrangea, deep red roses, autumn berries, branching vines, and layered foliage, the arrangement immediately established the tone for the evening and framed the reception beautifully against the changing fall landscape.
The reception tables carried that same kitchen garden-inspired approach. Instead of traditional centerpieces, long garlands stretched down the center of the communal table with flowers tucked organically throughout the greenery. Burgundy roses, orange spray roses, berries, and seasonal blooms were woven into the foliage in a way that felt relaxed and abundant rather than overly structured. Candles layered throughout the tablescape added warmth and intimacy to the reception space while allowing the flowers and color palette to remain the visual focus. The combination of candlelight, autumn foliage, and richly saturated blooms created a reception atmosphere that felt welcoming from the moment guests entered the room.
One of our favorite details from the day was the personal flowers worn by both grooms. Rather than using traditional boutonnieres for both looks, Jermaine wore a dramatic floral pocket square featuring layered burgundy and cream blooms with textural foliage that felt modern and editorial while still tying beautifully into the overall floral palette. Trevor’s lapel piece took a more classic approach with soft ivory flowers and greenery that complemented his deep burgundy tuxedo perfectly. The contrast between the two floral styles reflected the overall tone of the wedding itself. Thoughtful but not overly formal. Refined while still feeling relaxed and deeply personal.
Salamander Resort works especially beautifully for weddings like this because the setting already carries so much warmth and natural beauty in the fall. The flowers did not need to overpower the venue. Instead, the floral design enhanced the surrounding landscape and brought the colors of the season directly into the reception space.
Trevor and Jermaine’s Salamander Resort wedding was such a beautiful reminder that fall wedding flowers can feel colorful and elevated at the same time. Between the layered garlands, saturated autumn palette, candlelit tables, and personal floral details, the entire celebration felt intimate, welcoming, and unmistakably autumn in Middleburg.
