Elegant Disco Ball Wedding at Hotel Monaco DC

Some weddings are an instant vibe the moment guests walk into the room. Disco balls, white roses and baby’s breath. Need we say more? This elegant disco ball wedding at Hotel Monaco DC balanced timeless romance with a playful touch of sparkle, creating a celebration that felt both sophisticated and joyfully unexpected.

The bride carried a classic bouquet of white roses, a choice that always feels refined and effortless. Tucked among the blooms were delicate stems of pale blue tweedia, adding a whisper of color that nodded to the couple’s palette while keeping the overall look light and romantic.

Guests gathered beneath the soaring rotunda for the ceremony, one of the most iconic spaces for a Hotel Monaco DC wedding. Rather than filling the space with large installations, the ceremony design leaned into intimacy. Soft groupings of flowers in whites and greens flanked the ceremony area, creating a romantic frame that complemented the architecture without competing with it.

As the evening transitioned into the reception, the atmosphere shifted into celebration. A dramatic stage installation layered glowing lanterns with suspended disco balls, scattering reflections of light across the room and inviting guests straight onto the dance floor.

Reception tables alternated between two distinctive centerpiece styles. One featured a collection of glass-enclosed pillar candles in varying heights, interspersed with small mirrored disco balls that shimmered softly among the candlelight. The second embraced a garden-inspired look with lush silver compotes filled with white hydrangea, snapdragons, stock, white roses, and ivory spray roses, finished with touches of lemon leaf and ruscus foliage.

At the head table, a cloud-like runner of baby’s breath created a romantic foundation layered with candles and scattered mirror balls. The effect was elegant, festive, and unmistakably fun—a perfect reflection of a couple ready to celebrate surrounded by the beauty at the Hotel Monaco, of one of Washington’s most unforgettable venues.

I once worked in art museums, so being back in a space like this (now with flowers?!) just makes me so happy. Alexandra & Brian’s wedding at River Farm had that early summer, just-gathered feeling that never tries too hard but still feels completely considered. The palette stayed soft. Think pastel wildflowers with a little movement, nothing too tight or overly styled. Everything felt natural to the setting.⁣

The ceremony unfolded under the big tree with an arch that felt like it had grown there, loose and garden-inspired in shades of pale pink, light blue, cream, and lavender. It set the tone for the entire day.⁣

For the reception, long tables were filled all the way down with milk glass, blue mason jars, and pieces of depression glass, each one holding a slightly different mix of flowers. It created that full, abundant look that makes a space feel warm and inviting, while still leaving room for everything the evening needed to hold.⁣
Personal, relaxed, and quietly layered in a way that lets the setting - and the people in it - shine.⁣

There is something especially beautiful about bringing soft garden flowers into a space like St. Francis Hall. The historic stone walls have a certain weight to them, and loose, romantic florals create a lovely contrast that keeps the room from feeling too formal.⁣

For Marina & Kosta’s wedding, the goal was to make the reception feel like a garden had quietly taken over the hall. We designed lush arrangements in peach, cream, and fresh greens that felt natural and abundant on the tables. Against the warm tones of the room and the glow of candlelight, the flowers softened the space and made the entire evening feel relaxed, welcoming, and full of life.⁣
