Among all the incredible spaces we get to flower in Washington, DC, rooftops with sweeping skyline views will always have our heart. Designing Ruth and Nick’s wedding at Capitol View at 400 was no exception.
Sure, rooftop weddings come with their share of challenges (hello, wind!), but seeing this airy, city-framed ceremony come to life made every moment worth it.

Design challenge: Lisa & Liam wanted to blend modern sensibilities with a classic, marble-clad ballroom.
Our solution? A sleek lucite chuppah that felt airy and contemporary, allowing the elegant marble of the Crystal Room at the Willard Hotel to shine through. A stately valance of white hydrangea and blush roses softened the lines and brought just the right amount of romance. Finished with matching lucite chairs, the entire ceremony felt cohesive, sophisticated, and completely unforgettable.

Framing a space can be just as impactful as filling it.
At Hotel Monaco, drama lives in the details. Soaring columns, bold architecture, quirky design. For Hannah & Mike’s wedding, we wrapped lush smilax around the columns to emphasize the room’s grandeur, and suspended the chuppah canopy between them. Designed in soft lavender and honey tones, the floral palette added warmth and softness to the ballroom’s rich interiors. Honey-hued rope taper candles added a textural glow around the base of each design.
Sometimes, it’s about how you place the flowers, not just which ones you choose.
