Palm Royale Dreams Come to Life
If you thought last year’s Volume 8 launch party for The Scout Guide Alexandria was “over the top”, well wait until you hear about this year’s celebration at the chic and elegant Hotel AKA!
This year’s Hotel AKA Alexandria launch party was unlike any we’ve seen before. Hosted by The Scout Guide Alexandria to celebrate the release of Volume 9, the event’s whimsical “Palm Royale” theme transported guests straight to a world of vintage glam, floral fantasy, and old-school charm. As the luxury florist in Alexandria, VA tapped to design the event florals, we had the pleasure of bringing this retro-inspired vision to life.
A Welcome Worthy of Palm Beach Royalty
Guests arriving at Hotel AKA Alexandria were greeted with champagne and a show-stopping teal vintage car, piled high with pink suitcases and lush flowers. The mood? Palm Beach meets mid-century glam. As guests made their way into the chic hotel lounge, they were treated to a dramatic unveiling of The Scout Guide Vol. 9—complete with a theatrical performance by Candescent Talent featuring vintage luggage, a bell cart, a floral-adorned vignette by Petal’s Edge, and the instantly recognizable Palm Royale theme music.
Transforming the Lounge with Luxury Florals
The celebration unfolded in the hotel’s sleek bar and lounge, where every detail nodded to the Palm Royale aesthetic—lush, layered, and unapologetically pink. Collaborating with Emily from Simply Bold, our floral installations framed the space with playful elegance:

Pink and gold floral flamingos flanked the bars, standing tall on custom bases with vibrant blooms and tropical flair.

A palm tree crafted entirely from Scout Guide booklets brought high-concept design to life with a wink.

Custom rattan-wrapped vases featured peonies, ranunculus, viburnum, and roses in shades of blush, fuchsia, and coral—perfectly suited for a luxurious spring fête.

And the pièce de résistance: a massive floral pineapple, blooming in vibrant pinks and topped with teal-painted palm fronds to echo the party’s signature colors.
Scattered throughout the space, cabana-inspired umbrellas, a hot pink pegboard bar backdrop, and sophisticated lighting created a layered visual feast.
Weather-Proof Magic, Thanks to Flowers
The original plan was to host the launch party outdoors, but a sudden storm forced a quick pivot inside. Thanks to the versatility of our floral elements and the creative team’s adaptability, the energy of the evening didn’t miss a beat. The flowers did what they always do best: brought joy, movement, and personality into the space, even when plans changed.
