The Chevy Chase Club in Maryland, just over the Washington, DC border, is a truly beautiful and historic venue. Though it looks unassuming from the road, the venue features rolling lawns and stunning classic architecture, the Chevy Chase Club is a beautiful setting for a wedding – indoors and out. The ballroom’s traditional neutral décor allows for enhancement in your own personal style.

About

The Chevy Chase Club was founded in fall of 1892. The founding members, original members of the Metropolitan Club of Washington, DC, sought to create a country club focused on sports and recreation outside the turmoil of a growing city. A historic social institution that prides itself on traditions, the Chevy Chase Club’s picturesque grounds, remarkable sporting venues, and elegant clubhouse facilities have provided generations of members with year round recreation and leisure.

Pro Tips

First impressions are lasting ones. Greet guests at the door with a grand design on the escort card table.

The reception space features lots of light and an airy feel. Go classic with whites and green – but don’t be afraid to bring in color if that’s your jam! Both approaches are equally at home.

We love a wow moment. Make a statement with a long head table or King’s Tables in the reception space. For a more intimate feel, pair low centerpieces with lots and lots of candles. Having a band? A lush band front of flowers make the festivities that much more extra! Wondering how to make that work? An aisle treatment from the ceremony can serve dual purpose in front of the band.

Ready to really go big? Look at the ceiling! There’s much potential here from dream suspended installations to other inventive elements.

Lastly, don’t forget the fireplace mantels! Decorating these built in architectural features is an easy way to bring your own personality into the space.

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
