Ashley & Osi’s stunning wedding in Washington, DC was truly a day to remember. From the romantic, traditional ceremony at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church to their elegant reception at the iconic Willard Intercontinental Hotel, the day was filled with timeless beauty and impeccable details. Their celebration perfectly blended classic elegance with personal touches that made their day uniquely theirs.

The Willard Intercontinental Hotel, often referred to as the “Crown Jewel of Pennsylvania Avenue,” is a luxury hotel known for its historic grandeur and impeccable service. Similarly, a Willard Intercontinental Hotel DC wedding is no subtle affair. Located just steps from the White House, the Willard’s opulent ballrooms and architectural details offer a breathtaking backdrop for any wedding. From its elegant chandeliers to its classic interiors, this venue is perfect for couples who want to marry history and luxury in the heart of Washington, DC. For Ashley & Osi, the Willard was the ideal setting for their elegant reception, elevating the experience with its timeless charm and grandeur.

The floral designs throughout the day embraced a classic and refined palette of white roses, spray roses, and lush greenery. Ashley’s bridal bouquet was an exquisite blend of white and ivory roses and spray roses, accented by soft greenery, creating a romantic and sophisticated look as she walked down the aisle. The bridesmaids carried matching bouquets with white roses, stock, and greenery, while Osi and the groomsmen wore classic white rose boutonnieres, with Osi’s featuring a full white rose and the groomsmen’s complemented by delicate spray roses.

Following a cocktail house in the Willard Room, dinner and dancing following in the Grand Ballroom. The couple opted for low floral arrangements for the majority of the table, filling classic golden bowls with white Tibet roses, ivory spray roses, white lisianthus, and rich greenery, gracing each guest table. The star of the reception decor, however, were the dramatic king’s tables flanking each side of the dance floor. These featured lush, elevated floral arrangements atop glass vases, set alongside stunning crystal candelabras holding navy blue taper candles, adding a sense of grandeur and elegance to the room. In front of the bride and groom’s sweetheart table was a breathtaking long and low floral design, creating a gorgeous backdrop for their speeches and first meal as husband and wife.

As the evening progressed, Ashley & Osi surprised their guests with a fabulous outfit change, slipping into traditional Nigerian attire, a nod to Osi’s cultural heritage. This fusion of tradition and modern luxury was a perfect representation of the couple’s unique story.

If you’re looking for inspiration for your Willard Intercontinental Hotel DC wedding, Ashley & Osi’s timeless celebration showcased how classic design paired with personal details can create a wedding that feels both luxurious and deeply meaningful.

We call it the creep…

Everyone talks about the rising cost of flowers, but there’s another story behind the numbers: time. Over the years, wedding timelines have stretched. First looks, detail shots, getting-ready portraits, ceremony and reception setups starting hours earlier than before, and more complex with event breakdowns. Florists are often still paid by the piece, not by the hour, yet the hours have multiplied.

What was once a 2 to 4 hour delivery day has quietly turned into a 12 to 16 hour production days with setup, standby, and late-night breakdowns. And flowers are still perishable, so they cannot sit out waiting for the photography timeline to catch up.

When couples ask why flowers cost more now, this is part of the answer. It is not just about stems or supply chains. It is the labor, the logistics, and the reality that perfection takes time, often a lot more than it used to.
