Willard Hotel Wedding in Classic Blue

Willard Hotel Wedding in Classic Blue

The Willard Hotel has a rich, 200-year history and is a true landmark in Washington, DC. This is not the first wedding we have blogged about at this location, as it is one of our favorite wedding spots. Last summer, our lovely couple tied the knot at this landmark venue, and we could not have been more excited to create a classic Willard Hotel wedding in classic blue.

The bride’s bouquet featured tighter cream floral blooms – roses, spray roses, and lisianthus – with light layers of snow on the mountain and Italian ruscus foliage. Her bridesmaids carried petite versions of her bouquet accented with blue delphinium.

A beautiful sanctuary in it’s own right, Holy Trinity was dressed with just a touch of floral decor to make it personal. Pew posies on either side of the aisle featured cascades of ivy foliage with white open rose clusters. The altar featured two large white urns with compacted round arrangements to anchor the ceremony area. White roses, hydrangea, and stock were finished with accents of lush greenery for texture.

Guests were welcomed to the Grand Ballroom to candlelight on each of the round tables. The first look featured a collection of three petite glass vessels with fluffy white and blue blooms and greenery anchored with pale blue taper candles and votives to make a full tablescape. The second design featured an elevated design atop a clear glass pilsner vase. The tall centerpiece was composed of white and blue florals, drawing the eye to the arching ceilings of the space. A stunning blue scalloped base plate and blue menu card finished the table.

Industrial spaces have a beauty of their own, but the right floral design can take them from warehouse to urban garden. 🌿✨

For Laura & Michael’s Dock 5 wedding, we played with scale—tall magnolia branches to emphasize the height, lush florals to soften the space, and candlelight to add warmth. The result? An urban oasis that felt both grand and intimate.

1️⃣Go Big with Greenery – Tall magnolia branches brought height and movement to Laura & Michael’s Dock 5 wedding

2️⃣ Mix Textures – Lush, low floral arrangements softened the industrial edges while keeping the space dynamic

3️⃣ Layer Candlelight – Warm glows + metal details = a romantic urban oasis

4️⃣ Frame Key Spaces – A floral garland on the head table grounded the design and added intimacy. Trees flanking the table took it to the next level

5️⃣ Contrast is Key – Pairing the raw, industrial elements with soft florals and organic details created the perfect balance

Not all green and white floral palettes are created equal. This one here will NEVER go out of style and is truly as timeless as they come! Magnolia, eucalyptus, rosemary, and delicate touches of white… Add velvet linens and gold touches, and we’re smitten... 😍
