Walk Down the Aisle in Style

Walk Down the Aisle in Style

When it comes to your walk down the aisle, every detail counts! Finding inspiration in unexpected places can lead to truly unique and memorable elements. One surprising source of inspiration that’s gaining popularity is footwear. Yes, you read that right – shoes and flowers! In collaboration with Events to a T, Danielle Cover Photographer, and Sassanova, we embarked on a creative journey featured in the Winter/Spring 2014 edition of Virginia Bride Magazine.

The challenge was set: five pairs of shoes graciously provided by Sassanova, each to inspire a distinct bridal bouquet. The result? A stunning fusion of fashion and florals that added an extra layer of personalization to the big day.

From delicate lace heels to vibrant pumps, the diverse range of shoes allowed for a bouquet creation that mirrored the essence of each pair. The shoot, set in and around the historic Old Town Alexandria, captured the seamless blend of elegance and style.

Incorporating shoes into your bridal bouquet concept adds a touch of personality and flair, allowing brides to showcase their style from head to toe. It’s a trend that not only creates visually stunning bouquets but also tells a story, making the walk down the aisle even more special.

So, if you’re a bride looking to make a statement with your bouquet or a wedding planner seeking innovative ideas, consider the unexpected charm of shoe-inspired floral arrangements. After all, when it comes to weddings, the sky’s the limit – or should we say, the dance floor?

Check out more captivating photos from our collaboration and get ready to step into a world where bridal bouquets and shoes twirl in perfect harmony.

Where do you find inspiration? Some of our sources include Pantone, flowers like peonies, dahlia or protea (featured in the bouquets above) and a venue itself.

Industrial spaces have a beauty of their own, but the right floral design can take them from warehouse to urban garden. 🌿✨

For Laura & Michael’s Dock 5 wedding, we played with scale—tall magnolia branches to emphasize the height, lush florals to soften the space, and candlelight to add warmth. The result? An urban oasis that felt both grand and intimate.

1️⃣Go Big with Greenery – Tall magnolia branches brought height and movement to Laura & Michael’s Dock 5 wedding

2️⃣ Mix Textures – Lush, low floral arrangements softened the industrial edges while keeping the space dynamic

3️⃣ Layer Candlelight – Warm glows + metal details = a romantic urban oasis

4️⃣ Frame Key Spaces – A floral garland on the head table grounded the design and added intimacy. Trees flanking the table took it to the next level

5️⃣ Contrast is Key – Pairing the raw, industrial elements with soft florals and organic details created the perfect balance

Not all green and white floral palettes are created equal. This one here will NEVER go out of style and is truly as timeless as they come! Magnolia, eucalyptus, rosemary, and delicate touches of white… Add velvet linens and gold touches, and we’re smitten... 😍
