Vintage Travel Wedding

Vintage Travel Wedding

Catherine and Walter’s vintage travel wedding was originally planned to take place in late January, but that fateful blizzard put the best laid plans to waste. Not to fear! The festivities were rescheduled for April – and as you can see by these photos, everything turned out equally as lovely. The couple chose a vintage travel wedding theme, an homage to how they met. Burned out at work, Catherine chose a trip to Costa Rica, where she met Walter. They met amongst a group at a local bar, and after a group hike from the bar, they knew they’d forged a lifelong link.

Catherine carried a bouquet in classic, textured whites – peonies, lilac, ranunculus, freesia, orchids, and garden roses accented with seeded eucalyptus and camellia foliage finished with long, trailing ribbons in gold, ivory and green. The bridesmaids carried simpler versions of the bridal bouquet.

The ceremony took place at Alexandria’s Lyceum. Two lush green designs of mixed foliages flanked the couple, a mix of camellia, myrtle, ivy, jasmine vine, and hanging amaranthus accented with white larkspur and astilbe.

The reception took place at the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Sumptuous linens in gold and green featured a mix of table designs. Half the round tables featured a gold cathedral candlestick topped with a design of lush, mixed green foliages – loose and organic in feel. Gold footed bowls held romantic designs of hydrangea, stock, lilac, roses and ranunculus in classic whites with hints of light pink astilbe and sweet pea.

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
