Though rustic in detail, elegance perfect describes Lisa and Tim’s vintage Hendry House wedding, a charming property in Arlington. Using a palette of whites, golds, and blush pinks, the wedding featured loose, textured designs of garden flowers with quirky touches like painted cans for the centerpieces. Rustic cans were painted in a variety of metallic shades. Lisa carried an elegant bouquet of white peonies, ranunculus, lisianthus and stock, blush garden roses, and dusty miler with wild touches of jasmine vine to capture a rustic looseness. Her fiancé’s boutonniere complemented with a white ranunculus blossom. To contrast with their navy dresses, the bridesmaids’ held garden bouquets of roses, ranunculus, spray roses, sweet pea and stock in varying shades of pink finished with dusty miller.
The ceremony took place in front of the grand, wisteria vine-covered arch at the site. Two large, floor-standing urns flanked the ceremony, each filled with a classic design of hydrangea, roses, stock, spray roses, lisianthus, Queen Anne’s lace, and hanging amaranthus in whites, pinks and greens – a style befitting the vintage Hendry House wedding. Gold painted cans hung from the chairs on both sides of the aisle, with additional cans hung on shepherd hooks lining the path to the ceremony.
One of the more striking and different elements of the wedding, a bed of baby’s breath was created to hold the escort cards. Loose, rustic designs in pink and white were placed in painted cans, ranging in size from a tomato paste can to a coffee can. The cans were a perfect complement to the vintage Hendry House wedding style. Ranunculus, roses, Queen Anne’s lace and hanging amaranthus were the perfect loose blooms.
