Nested in the heart of Georgetown is Tudor Place, a historic house and intimate wedding venue like no other. The Federal style mansion was the original home of Thomas Peter and Martha Parker Custis Peter, granddaughter of Martha Washington. The gardens are as rich and interesting as the home itself, and provided the perfect floral backdrop to Victoria and Jerome’s Tudor Place wedding. From Victoria’s elegant hand-tied bouquet to the contemporary ceremony arch, every arrangement showcased timeless beauty with a touch of modern flair.
Victoria’s bouquet was a stunning mix of classic white hues, featuring white Tibet roses, white garden roses, ivory spray roses, and white stock. The result was a bouquet that effortlessly blended the elegance of tradition with a contemporary twist. The maid of honor carried a smaller-scale version of the bouquet, crafted with white roses and ivory spray roses, tied together with a sleek black satin ribbon.
Jerome’s boutonnière was a perfect white rose, while the other boutonnières were delicately created using ivory spray roses. These details added a touch of sophistication to the groom and his groomsmen’s attire.
The ceremony in the secluded Bowling Green was beyond breathtaking. A clean-lined silver arch served as the backdrop, adorned with three organically-designed clusters of flowers in a palette of whites and ivories. This contemporary design provided a stunning contrast against the historic setting of Tudor Place. To create a fairytale atmosphere, a lush carpet of rose petals lined the center aisle, inviting the couple to embark on their journey of love.
The floral accents extended to the wedding welcome sign, where a delightful arrangement of white roses and spray roses greeted guests with elegance and warmth. Additionally, Tudor Place’s charming fountain was adorned with a two-tiered arrangement of white roses, spray roses, white stock, and white larkspur, accentuated by the natural beauty of eucalyptus foliage.
Even the cocktail tables received special attention. Sleek cube vases filled with white hydrangea and roses added a touch of refinement to the space, serving as both ceremony walkway accents and charming tabletop decorations during the reception.
The floral details of Victoria and Jerome’s modern Tudor Place wedding were a true testament to the beauty that can be achieved when tradition meets contemporary design. If you’re envisioning a wedding that blends classic elegance with a modern touch, look no further than Tudor Place.
We appreciate the opportunity to have been part of such a special day for Victoria and Jerome, and we wish this wonderful couple a lifetime of happiness together!
