Fall Tent Wedding in McLean

Fall Tent Wedding in McLean

Petal's Edge | Real Wedding: Laura and Ethan - Private Residence Wedding | Washington DC Wedding Florist

What’s better than a tent wedding at your childhood home? Laura and Ethan were married at Laura’s home in McLean this past fall. Following a ceremony at St. Joe’s on Capitol Hill, the spectacular lawn became the perfect backdrop for this adorable couple’s reception. The magnolia-infused wedding with its palette of rich greens and browns – and this couple’s joy and love made the day unforgettable for everyone in attendance!

Laura’s bridal bouquet featured perfect ivory garden roses and magnolia foliage in lush green and chocolate brown, wrapped in ivory satin ribbon. For her bridesmaids, we created complementary bouquets of ivory majolika spray roses, also accented with magnolia foliage and wrapped in dark green satin ribbon. Laura’s junior bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bridesmaids’ bouquets, while her flower girl toted a charming basket with a simple design of camellia foliage, accented with ivory spray roses. Ethan’s boutonniere showcased a single ivory garden rose with touches of small magnolia leaves, and the other boutonnieres were similar in style but featured ivory spray roses.

Laura’s and Ethan’s beautiful ceremony, held at St. Joseph’s Church, was flanked by striking altar arrangements we provided. The bountiful array of white and ivory blooms included hydrangea, gladiola, stock, snapdragons, and roses, finished with cocculus and magnolia for texture and contrast.

The couple’s reception, held at Laura’s family home in McLean, Virginia, was truly stunning. For the head table, we created two elegant centerpieces of magnolia leaves – the greens and browns  made a spectacular statement! For the guest tables, we filled gold-toned ceramic urns with lush designs of magnolia foliage. We loved how the centerpieces popped against the gorgeous linens and tableware, for a unique yet utterly timeless effect.

We were honored to be part of this sweet and sophisticated affair, and we wish Laura and Ethan all the happiness life has to offer! Congratulations!

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
