State Theatre Wedding

State Theatre Wedding

It’s not often that we are challenged to match a tartan for a wedding, but that is exactly what Catherine and Max had in mind! Their festive wedding at the State Theatre was inspired by the multi-colored scheme of Max’s tartan. Catherine’s bouquet featured a range of bright pink and orange hues – coral peonies, hot pink and orange ranunculus, fuchsia anemone, light pink sweet pea, and peach garden roses. Max’s boutonniere featured orange ranunculus and was accented with hops as a nod to their love of beer.

The bridesmaids’ bouquets featured roses, spray roses, ranunculus and anemone in shades of hot pink, coral and orange, finished with a charcoal gray satin ribbon.

The reception took place at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Arlington. Here the floral scheme remained more neutral, in deference to the decor of the church.

But color made a big appearance at the reception! Against white linens, napkins and bud vases of flowers provided a festive pop of color.

Once again inspired by the colors in Max’s tartan, we used a mix of peonies, anemone, delphinium, tulips, and ranunculus in glass bud vases – the best colors of spring. For the escort card table, a glass cylinder vase featured dark pink hydrangea, roses, ranunculus and peonies in shades of coral and orange, hot pink ranunculus and fuchsia anemone. A festive design of wedding flowers crowned the cake with additional clusters strategically placed on the tiers.

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
