Spring Whittemore House Wedding

As the cherry blossoms painted the city in soft pastels, the Whittemore House provided the perfect backdrop for Sarah and Aaron’s nuptials. Their delightful spring celebration in Washington, DC will fill your heart with with inspiration and joy.

Whittemore House is a historic building located at 1526 New Hampshire Avenue, NW in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC. The building stands as a testament to the city’s rich history. A former private residence to musicians, several politicians, and a mountain explorer, the building now serves as the headquarters of the Women’s National Democratic Club. Its stately charm and lush surroundings create an idyllic setting for a spring wedding. The elegant interiors, complemented by the abundance of natural light, provided a warm and inviting atmosphere for Sarah and Aaron’s celebration.

The infusion of vibrant pinks, a hallmark of spring, added a touch of romance to this already charming affair. From delicate floral arrangements to the bridesmaids’ bouquets, every detail exuded the freshness of the season. Sarah’s bouquet featured soft peach Juliet garden roses, orange ranunculus, peach stock, peach roses, and wisps of gray dusty miller foliage. The soft pastel hues contrasted beautifully with the bridesmaids’ vibrant coral dresses.

I am certainly no expert astrologer, but if last weekend is a harbinger of things to come, it’s going to be a fantastic new period! We’ve weathered many challenges over the last eight years, things that have encouraged us to change and innovate, and Petal’s Edge is a stronger and more versatile company for it. 🥂

I am certainly no expert astrologer, but if last weekend is a harbinger of things to come, it’s going to be a fantastic new period! We’ve weathered many challenges over the last eight years, things that have encouraged us to change and innovate, and Petal’s Edge is a stronger and more versatile company for it. 🥂

Oh the places we go! Working inside Folger Shakespeare Library is such a full circle moment for me. I once worked in art museums, so being back in a space like this (now with flowers?!) just makes me so happy. Truly honored to be part of this Friday’s gala 💫 , but in the meantime, here’s a throwback to last year’s event!

Alexandra & Brian’s wedding at River Farm had that early summer, just-gathered feeling that never tries too hard but still feels completely considered. The palette stayed soft. Think pastel wildflowers with a little movement, nothing too tight or overly styled. Everything felt natural to the setting.⁣
⁣
The ceremony unfolded under the big tree with an arch that felt like it had grown there, loose and garden-inspired in shades of pale pink, light blue, cream, and lavender. It set the tone for the entire day.⁣
⁣
For the reception, long tables were filled all the way down with milk glass, blue mason jars, and pieces of depression glass, each one holding a slightly different mix of flowers. It created that full, abundant look that makes a space feel warm and inviting, while still leaving room for everything the evening needed to hold.⁣
Personal, relaxed, and quietly layered in a way that lets the setting - and the people in it - shine.⁣
