Located along Rock Creek park, the Omni Shoreham hotel has the feel of a luxury retreat while being right in a sought after Washington, DC neighborhood. One of our favorite spots in the city, we have worked at this Omni many times over the years – and in just about all of the ballroom spaces! Jenni and Aaron’s spring Omni Shoreham wedding, though, presented a first for us. While the beautiful ceremony took place at the iconic domed gazebo, the reception made use of the patio terrace.
Punctuated with flowers in shades of blue, the palette was both nuanced and classic. Blue is truly one of our favorite color schemes for spring. Lush white peonies formed the body of Jenni’s bouquet, accented with blue delphinium and tweedia, sharp green lady’s mantle, and rounded out with white mini-calla lilies, stock, lisianthus and Italian ruscus foliage. The bridesmaids’ simpler smaller bouquets popped against their pale blue dresses.
The aisle was strewn with white roses leading to the gazebo. Elegant lemon leaf garlands were tucked with white and ivory roses and spray roses, white stock, and dark and light blue delphinium. With the white cherry blossom trees in blooms in the background, it was truly a magical, spring Omni Shoreham wedding ceremony.
Blue is such a great color for a spring Omni Shoreham wedding, if only because there are more blue flower options to be had! For the reception, the intimate guest count was well suited to the patio terrace, where guests could continue to gaze out upon the stunning gazebo and lawn. Each table featured a lush design of blues and whites – hydrangea, stock, roses, lisianthus, tweedia and delphinium filled glass cylinder vase. A striking design of dark and light blue delphinium graced the guestbook table.
It was such a pleasure to bring Jenni and Aaron’s vision to life! We with you many beautiful seasons together ahead.
