Rooftop Garden Wedding at Capitol View at 400

One of our favorite venues was transformed this past fall into a romantic floral garden. Ruth and Nick’s rooftop garden wedding at Capitol View at 400 was something only dreams are made of. From the first meeting with Ruth and Nick, it was obvious flowers were important to them, and they wanted their reception to feel lush and inviting with a tailored, garden feel.

To start, we needed to create the perfect palette for Ruth and Nick’s wedding. Initially, the wedding was planned for fall of 2020, then spring of 2021, and finally we came full circle to fall of 2021. Looks like fall wedding was in the stars from the start! The floral palette was composed of classics like garden roses, roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, lisianthus, stock and more. The colors ranged from the whitest white to a subtle blush that was timeless and romantic. The rooftop tent featured the most thoughtful details, like an elegant bar arrangement, clutches of flowers on the perimeter of the tent, a lush sweetheart table design, candles everywhere, and a lush design for the band front.

The real showstopper though was the ceremony. From the picturesque descent down the stairs to the gardenesque floral arch, there wasn’t a moment you could not say “wow!”. The floral arch was filled with white roses, spray roses, stock, lisianthus and salal greenery. It was the perfect tailored choice for the rooftop garden wedding.

It was an absolute pleasure producing this beautiful celebration for Ruth and Nick. It was well worth the wait, and we wish them the best in their life together!

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
