Torpedo Factory Wedding

Torpedo Factory Wedding

Bride and groom pose in front of greenery with Lush bridal bouquet in white and pale pinks with pictures of loved ones tied to the stems

On a beautiful June day, Sally and Kevin were married at one of Old Town Alexandria’s best known wedding venues – the Torpedo Factory. The former factory’s industrial feel was softened through the use of soft blush, ivory, pale green and gold tones. It was the most perfect romantic Torpedo Factory wedding scheme. And you don’t have to ask us twice to work in our own neighborhood!

Sally’s classic spring bouquet featured the most stunning white peonies, Cafe au Lait dahlia, ivory garden and spray roses, pale pink Sweet Eskimo roses, and white stock finished with eucalyptus and ruscus foliage. Her maid of honor’s bouquet matched in similar shades and tones, while the boutonnieres were classic and elegant with a light pink rose.

The Torpedo Factory is a nontraditional, eclectic venue, but a more traditional floral design still looks amazing in the space! These elevated, rounded arrangements of dahlia, hydrangea, and roses were used in the ceremony decor, creating not only a dramatic backdrop but also a stately entrance to the aisle for the romantic Torpedo Factory wedding. They were also used later at the reception.

The long reception space took a dramatic turn, with alternating low and tall floral arrangements. With blush, ivory and soft green blooms nested in gold footed bowls, the romantic Torpedo Factory wedding took a dramatic turn as elevated designs of hydrangea, Cafe au Lait dahlia, and roses drew the eye up.

Industrial spaces have a beauty of their own, but the right floral design can take them from warehouse to urban garden. 🌿✨

For Laura & Michael’s Dock 5 wedding, we played with scale—tall magnolia branches to emphasize the height, lush florals to soften the space, and candlelight to add warmth. The result? An urban oasis that felt both grand and intimate.

1️⃣Go Big with Greenery – Tall magnolia branches brought height and movement to Laura & Michael’s Dock 5 wedding

2️⃣ Mix Textures – Lush, low floral arrangements softened the industrial edges while keeping the space dynamic

3️⃣ Layer Candlelight – Warm glows + metal details = a romantic urban oasis

4️⃣ Frame Key Spaces – A floral garland on the head table grounded the design and added intimacy. Trees flanking the table took it to the next level

5️⃣ Contrast is Key – Pairing the raw, industrial elements with soft florals and organic details created the perfect balance

Not all green and white floral palettes are created equal. This one here will NEVER go out of style and is truly as timeless as they come! Magnolia, eucalyptus, rosemary, and delicate touches of white… Add velvet linens and gold touches, and we’re smitten... 😍
