Patriotic Wedding at Potomac View Terrace

Sword arch recessional for patriot wedding at Potomac View Terrace

Sometimes a couple comes to us with a theme, and usually with a specific color in mind. But very few couples consider those colors to be paramount to who they are as people. Both Emily and Menachem are in the military, as are many members of their family, and their service is a huge part of who they are. White signifies innocence and purity. Red signifies valor and strength. And, lastly, blue signifies perseverance and justice. So we set out to create a gorgeous palette of red, white, and blue to accent gorgeous greenery for their patriotic wedding at Potomac View Terrace.

Patriotic Wedding at Potomac View Terrace

Nothing was accidental in the planning of this wedding, from the date – the week of July 4th – to photos by the national monuments. Emily’s classic bouquet of whites popped with hints of red. Menachem’s dashing uniform completed the patriotic colors. Bridesmaids wore navy blue, and the red of their bouquets, along with Emily’s bridal white, presented a twist on the classic red, white, and blue. White roses and lisianthus were woven through a garland of variegated ivy and smilax foliage on the birch branch chuppah.

Subtle nods to red, white, and blue were carried through the cocktail hour and reception for their summer Potomac View Terrace wedding. The reception featured three complementary designs of greenery arrangements. Garlands of variegated ivy and lemon leaf trailed along the reception tables and Camellia leaf “trees” gave the room a natural yet dramatic feel. Footed glass bowls held Centerpieces of white hydrangea, white stock, ivory spray roses, white freesia white lisianthus and burgundy dahlia and burgundy scabiosa accented with maidenhair fern and camellia foliage.

Designing this patriotic wedding was a true joy! We wish you happiness in your life together.

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
