Newseum Washington DC Wedding

Newseum Washington DC Wedding

By far one of the most special things that happens for us is to work with families again and again – and this was the case for Annie and Josh for their Newseum Washington DC wedding. Having previously provided flowers for Michelle’s Westin Georgetown wedding in 2012, it was a heartwarming experience to craft floral magic once again for her sister’s special day at the Newseum last fall.

Annie and Josh exchanged vows in the unique ambiance of the Newseum’s Knight Conference Center, a departure from traditional venues but a perfect match for their contemporary vision. The October weather set the scene for exquisite terrace photos, capturing the essence of fall, followed by an evening of dancing and celebration surrounded by cherished friends and family.

The floral palette embraced the warmth of fall with a mix of what we fondly term “fall neutral.” Featuring garden roses, dahlias, calla lilies, peach stock, and subtle silver accents of dusty miller and brunea pods, the style was a harmonious blend of texture and sophistication.

For the chuppah, simple yet elegant bamboo poles adorned with designs of white hydrangea, ivory roses, peach and white stock, white dendrobium orchids, and hints of dusty miller foliage and silver brunea pods at the top corners created a stunning focal point.

This delightful floral palette seamlessly transitioned into the reception. Incorporating a touch of modern flair, white glass cylinder vases showcased a textured arrangement of white hydrangea, white and peach stock, ivory and champagne roses, ivory spray roses, white lisianthus, and white dahlias. Silver dusty miller and silver brunea pods added a sophisticated finishing touch.

Annie and Josh’s Newseum wedding was a testament to the beauty of blending modernity with timeless elegance. If you’re envisioning a Washington DC wedding that combines unique venues, stunning florals, and a touch of contemporary charm, the Newseum is the perfect backdrop for your unforgettable celebration. Love in full bloom - rain and all ☔️ ✨

Tamari & Zach embraced the romance of a rainy day ceremony at the historic Tudor Place, saying “I do” beneath clear umbrellas. Then they celebrated in the cozy, intimate setting of the Tabard Inn - with a warm floral palette of corals and oranges, the dreamiest Cafe au Lait dahlias, and proof that a little rain only adds to the magic.

G is for greenery 🌿, L is for lush ✨… you get the idea!

When it comes to statement-making florals, a well-placed garland can do it all—elevate long tables, frame a ceremony aisle, or even drape around a fountain for that effortlessly chic look. Who said greenery was just filler? 💅

Industrial spaces have a beauty of their own, but the right floral design can take them from warehouse to urban garden. 🌿✨

For Laura & Michael’s Dock 5 wedding, we played with scale—tall magnolia branches to emphasize the height, lush florals to soften the space, and candlelight to add warmth. The result? An urban oasis that felt both grand and intimate.

1️⃣Go Big with Greenery – Tall magnolia branches brought height and movement to Laura & Michael’s Dock 5 wedding

2️⃣ Mix Textures – Lush, low floral arrangements softened the industrial edges while keeping the space dynamic

3️⃣ Layer Candlelight – Warm glows + metal details = a romantic urban oasis

4️⃣ Frame Key Spaces – A floral garland on the head table grounded the design and added intimacy. Trees flanking the table took it to the next level

5️⃣ Contrast is Key – Pairing the raw, industrial elements with soft florals and organic details created the perfect balance
