A simple black and white color palette. A timeless feel. Decor elements that hint toward a New Orleans wedding vibe at the Carnegie Institute. These were things Raquel and Alex were sure of when talking about their wedding. Against the classic backdrop of the classic venue, it was a task easily met. Wearing elegant black dresses, the bridesmaids’ bouquets of white roses were simple and elegant. Raquel’s bouquet introduced a little more texture – the white roses accompanied by seasonal white dahlia.
The ceremony was centered on the Carnegie’s dramatic, dark doors creating an eye catching contract for the wedding. Ethereal but impressive designs of baby’s breath flanked both the ceremony area and the entrance to the aisle, each atop an ornate cathedral candlesticks reminiscent of New Orleans for a wedding vibe that nods to historic architecture and churches.
Warm gold linens and chairs proved an elegant accent to the classic white flowers for the reception. Tall designs of baby’s breath were placed on half the tables, with black urns evoking the feel of New Orlean’s wrought iron accents on the balance. For the low designs, iris reminiscent of fleur de lis symbols sat against a floral canvas of white hydrangea, roses, spray roses and stock.
