Bethany and Eric were married at Meridian House in Washington, DC in wedding full of New Orleans inspiration that drew from Eric’s French background and the couple’s favorite vacation spot, New Orleans. In addition to the paper products, which featured a black scroll design inspired by the iron railings of New Orleans and dinner tables with names of New Orleans landmarks, the floral decor similarly embraced that old city feel.
The floral palette included soft peaches, whites and green, bringing in a host of vintage textures, such as Juliet garden roses, Queen Anne’s lace, draping hanging amaranthus, and Cafe au Lait dahlias throughout the decor. Though these aren’t traditional Mardi Gras colors, they can be thought to reflect the vintages touches of stone churches and other buildings from which the couple got New Orleans inspiration for their wedding. Touches of black even came through in the flowers, with arabicum flowers used as a touch throughout the decor. An elegant, wrought iron octopus candelabra held flowers for the escort card table, while black urns held the reception table flowers.
For the ceremony, an ombre design of petals in wedding colors provided a touch of intimacy. While not obscuring anyone’s vision for the nuptials, they simultaneously framed the couple. Reception centerpieces include elegant black urns of varying sizes, each filled with an array of wedding textures.
