InterContinental Wharf Wedding

InterContinental Wharf Wedding

Bride and groom

The much-anticipated area known as The Wharf in Southwest D.C. is home to a slew of new wedding venues in the District! Meredith and Jeff’s Intercontinental Wharf wedding played with an elegant but fun color palette of pinks, corals, and dramatic pops of burgundy and sage green.

Meredith’s bouquet was designed in shades of pink and coral, with touches of burgundy and sage green. Café au Lait dahlia, light pink Constance garden roses, light pink astilbe, coral Miss Piggy roses, light pink stock and lisianthus, and burgundy dahlia was finished with touches of rosemary, dusty miller and seeded eucalyptus foliage. In the bridesmaid bouquets, burgundy scabiosa popped against pink Sweet Eskimo roses, astilbe, peach stock, and light pink lisianthus . Groomsmen wore boutonnieres of pink lisianthus flowers finished with seeded eucalyptus.Striking domed altar arrangement in shades of light pink and burgundy flanked Meredith and Jeff as they said their vows.

Centerpieces of dramatic burgundy dahlia and burgundy scabiosa popped against shades of light pink roses, astilbe, and hydrangea, and was finished with greenery of dusty miller and seeded eucalyptus – a perfect touch of color for the Intercontinental Wharf wedding ballroom. The ballroom focused on the head table, where domed tall arrangements in light pink and burgundy alongside smaller arrangements at the head table.

We are back at Woodend this coming week, and it has us reminiscing about Amanda and Jack’s whimsical, wonderful, William Morris-inspired dream of a wedding with an Art Nouveau twist. The wedding layered bohemian textures, vintage details, woodland creatures and, of course, romantic blooms into a palette that felt both grounded and poetic. Think climbing vines, golden light, and flowers that felt like they had stepped out of an heirloom wallpaper print - in the best way. We’re still swooning. 💫

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.
