Hip Urban Wedding at Mess Hall

Hip Urban Wedding at Mess Hall

Hip Urban Wedding

As a designer, it’s always fun working with vivid colors, lush textures, and new venues! Megan and Joe’s hip urban wedding at Mess Hall in Washington, DC did not disappoint. If you’re looking for a raw, industrial space, Mess Hall is definitely one to consider. Nestled in one of DC’s newest hip neighborhoods, Mess Hall conveys an effortlessly cool vibe. From the urban loading dock for the ceremony to the graffiti and minimal warehouse decor, the venue is as unique as they come.

Moody Fall Floral Palette

Megan’s and her bridesmaids’ bouquets, it was all about the sophisticated palette of reds and burgundies with softer accent shades, as well as a diverse mix of beautiful blooms. Megan’s bridal bouquet included red Piano garden roses, lavender roses, peach stock and white rice flower, among which we tucked silver dollar eucalyptus, burgundy agionis foliage, and wispy white ostrich feathers. Her attendants carried complementary bouquets that featured Black Magic roses.

Industrial Ceremony Vibes

A dramatic copper arch served as the focal point for Megan and Joe’s hip urban wedding ceremony. The industrial feeling structure was accented with an asymmetrical design of silver dollar eucalyptus further finished with touches of ivory majolica spray roses.

Rustic Reception

For the reception, guests were seated at cozy long tables set with rustic, elegant centerpieces that perfectly suited Megan’s and Joe’s style. Designed in small, depression glass vases, each container held a mix of burgundy dahlia, burgundy ranunculus, and red zinnia, accented with silver dollar eucalyptus. We think the effect was gorgeous!

Megan and Joe’s hip urban wedding was a joy to help design, and we can’t thank them enough for including us in the festivities! Congratulations to the happy couple!

Scenes from holiday pasts and present. While December tends to be a low volume time for weddings, we love the range of things we have gotten to do, from inviting the community into our studio for wreath workshops to helping businesses and hotels decorate with garland, trees and more for the holidays. Do you have a favorite way to decorate?

We will be closing soon for a much needed holiday break. See you in the new year!

MOODY ROMANCE ✨ Daryn & Kelsey’s wedding last weekend was the definition of moody romance. A room glowing in candlelight, black linens setting the stage for elevated greenery hedges kissed 💋 with baby’s breath and dreamy hanging glass globes cradling flickering votives. Black and deep plum tapers paired with glass chimneys added a touch of drama, while the sweetheart table gave our couple the place of honor, accented with lush greenery and flowers in soft mauve and blush.

Every detail felt like it was straight out of a modern fairytale. 🖤 🤍 ✨ What’s your favorite part of this stunning set up?
