We love doing flowers, but it is always a special treat when we are also hired to stay through as day-of coordinators, as we did with Kelsey and Tony’s big day in November. Their fall wedding at The Alexandrian Hotel was particularly easy and fun as the family and friends of the bride and groom are as happy, friendly and easy to work with as was with this group!
The bride’s gorgeous bouquet included loose tendrils of jasmine vine and seeded eucalyptus foliage stemming from a bouquet of burgundy roses, dahlias, hypericum berries, scabiosa and ranunculus, accented with orange cymbidium orchids, for a luxe, deeply toned fall look.
The traditional ceremony, held in the morning, was at a Catholic church in Annandale, followed by a luncheon reception the Alexandrian Hotel.
While the day started out a bit chilly, it warmed up so that they could have their cocktail luncheon outside in the courtyard of the Alexandrian Hotel. Deep, dark colors were the order of the day, with navy and copper linens for the tables topped with rich burgundy and orange flowers in copper ceramic containers. Flowers and greens, such as scabiosa, ranunculus, hypericum berries, roses, cymbidium orchids, seeded eucalyptus and jasmine vine, were loose and splaying for an organic and casual look.
The fall wedding at The Alexandrian Hotel day was capped off with a fun reception exit, featuring the guests in long lines waving ribbon streamers as the bride and groom ran from the courtyard to the streets of Old Town Alexandria, to the sound of Metallica’s Enter Sandman. Not your typical wedding song, but it fit this sweet and quirky couple perfectly! We wish them all the best with their future together! Thank you for letting us be a part of your day!
