Elegant Fall Anderson House Wedding

Liidia and Mike’s elegant fall Anderson House wedding took place on a picturesque October day. Their day started with portraits at the Bishop’s Garden at the National Cathedral. Liidia carried a bouquet of classic white garden roses, roses, and lisianthus accented with purple stock and lisianthus. The bridesmaids’ bouquets featured roses, stock and lisianthus in shades of lavender, purple and white.

The ceremony took place at Georgetown Presbyterian Church. Elegant altar arrangements in classic white flanked the ceremony, while posies of rose, stock and lisianthus in shades of purple and white graced the pews.

One of our favorite venues, the elegant fall reception took place at Anderson House. Gold mercury glass bowls centered each table, each filled with a richly textured design of white hydrangea and spray roses accented with purple stock, lavender roses and camellia foliage. The bridesmaids’ bouquets were placed along the length of the long head table for a finishing touch to the elegant, Fall Anderson House wedding.

The Astor Terrace and Astor Ballroom give us two different settings to consider, and I love finding the floral thread between them. A color carried through. A favorite flower appearing again. A shape that feels familiar when guests move inside. You get the excitement of a new space, with flowers that feel like they belong to the same celebration.⁣
⁣
Those connections are some of my favorite parts of wedding design, and for Katie and Doug, I love how they went a step further with incorporating hand painted ceramics form Katie`s homeland. ⁣

Elena & Bradley could have had their ceremony in one of the Mayflower’s many lovely ceremony spaces, but they had their hearts set on Union Station’s Presidential Suite. And boldly they went for it! Then they made room for a little adventure along the way with a Metro ride to their reception, wedding attire and al!

And that baby’s breath band front! An incredibly lush sweep of flowers across the stage, creating a gorgeous backdrop for their first dance and toasts. Such a fabulous choice for a spot that gets so much attention throughout the evening. Add classic blue and white flowers and an abundance of candlelight in the Mayflower’s Grand Ballroom… was there anything NOT to love about Elena and Bradley’s wedding?!

We’re back at the Mayflower this weekend, just ahead of E & B’s anniversary, and it’s the perfect time to reminisce.
