Fall Pastels for Hotel Monaco Wedding

Fall Pastels for Hotel Monaco Wedding

This past November we had the pleasure of spending the day with Abby and Rob as their day-of-coordinator, in addition to providing their flowers – an array of fall pastels for their Hotel Monaco wedding. It was so wonderful seeing their vision come to life, and helping them enjoy the day stress-free! They were such a happy couple, and so fun to work with! From the matching bridesmaids bathrobes right down to the shoes, Abby didn’t miss an adorable detail. The gorgeous Hotel Monaco and surrounding Chinatown/Penn Quarter neighborhood served as backdrops for their photo shoot prior to the ceremony.

Abby’s loose and unstructured bouquet featured white tulips, stock and ranunculus, peach garden roses, and blue thistle accented with deep blue privet berry, dusty miller and seeded eucalyptus foliage for a wintery style. Rob’s boutonniere matched his bride’s bouquet, featuring white ranunculus and seeded eucalyptus.

Historic St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Dupont Circle was the setting for their touching and celebratory ceremony.  We love the gorgeous woodwork in this church!!

The escort card table arrangement introduced a touch of modern design to the otherwise loose and garden-style flowers, pairing floating candles with simple arrangements of white hydrangea and roses. Very fitting for the contemporary aesthetic of the hotel! For the reception, flowers matched the bride’s bouquet, with fall pastels for the Hotel Monaco wedding reception that combined whites and ivory tones with touches of deep blue, pale pink and sage, evocative of a winter garden. Thistle and privet berries, along with the silvery dusty miller really add that wintery touch.

And we love the tiny fondant dog peeking out of their cake. He was styled to look just like Abby and Rob’s dog!

But hands down, the our favorite part of the wedding was when George Washington, one of the mascots from our hometown baseball team, The Nationals, made a surprise appearance!  He took photos with the guests, danced and generally rocked out.  Such a fun wedding!  Thank you Abby and Rob, for letting us be a part of your special day!

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
