Evergreen Winter Wedding at Hotel Monaco DC

Alison and Frank’s winter wedding at the Hotel Monaco in Washington, DC was simply stunning. Key to the bride and groom’s wedding vision were evergreens at the Hotel Monaco, where the greenery-filled ballroom was accented with with touches of winter white. The unique December wedding had the perfect winter feel that any couple would dream of.

Alison’s bridal bouquet was full of large white and ivory blooms ringed in evergreens that accented her classic gown beautifully. The bouquet featured white garden roses accented with winter evergreens such as fir and pine. Touches of eucalyptus lended a range of green hues to the design.

The Hotel Monaco was the perfect location for the this stunning winter wedding. The lush smilax foliage treatment that we designed to scale the columns of the rotunda was the perfect element to surround the couple during their vows, transitioning to the reception and framing dances. Evergreens and candles were featured throughout, from the escort card table to the dinner tables. City chic meets winter wonderland, as evergreens at the Hotel Monaco transformed the classic ballroom space.

The bouquet is often the first place a couple’s floral vision comes to life. It is the piece everyone notices up close, and it quietly sets the tone for the entire wedding design.⁣

For Mandana & Jan’s St. Francis Hall wedding, Mandana carried a cascading bouquet of white anemone, burgundy hanging amaranthus, roses and spray roses in shades of burgundy and cream, and burgundy protea accented with eucalyptus and jasmine vine. The shapes were bold and sculptural, which gave the bouquet a modern feeling while still feeling elegant against the historic backdrop of the hall. When a bouquet reflects the personality of the couple, it becomes more than just flowers. It becomes part of the story of the day.⁣

There’s something really special about designing flowers for a venue that already feels immersed in the landscape around it.⁣

At the Dockmaster Building, the water, sky, reflections, and light become part of the experience. The floor-to-ceiling glass and panoramic waterfront views create a setting that feels airy, modern, and completely different from the more traditional DC wedding venues we work in so often.⁣

We loved leaning into that atmosphere for Claire & Sean`s wedding with flowers that felt organic, textural, and romantic without competing with the architecture or the view.⁣

In a city known for grand beaux arts mansions and classic ballroom weddings, there’s something so refreshing about the industrial architecture of Ritz-Carlton Georgetown.⁣
The exposed brick, steel details, and warm textures create a completely different kind of romance. It feels moodier, more intimate, and unexpectedly modern while still feeling unmistakably DC.⁣

We love the design opportunities a venue like this presents. Soft, garden inspired flowers against raw architectural elements will always be one of our favorite contrasts.⁣
