District Winery Wedding

Sweetheart table at District Winery

Every day is filled with love when you get to spend it working in weddings, but we hold a special place in our hearts for Valentine’s Day! Today, we’re reminiscing about Aissa’s and Joe’s romantic District Winery wedding nuptials in Washington, DC. Aissa’s organic cascading bouquet featured her chosen palette of burgundy, champagne, pale pink and ivory. Dahlias, scabiosa, peonies, astilbe, garden roses, anemone, stock and more were combined for a unique and richly textured design. For Aissa’s bridesmaids, we created French hand-tied bouquets of roses, spray roses, stock and Queen Anne’s lace. The delicate white and ivory tones stood out from the attendants’ beautiful burgundy gowns.

Aissa’s and Joe’s wedding ceremony, held at St. Vincent de Paul in Washington, DC, featured stunning altar arrangements of white hydrangea, burgundy Safari Sunset protea, white stock, burgundy dahlias and roses in a mix of blush and champagne.

Rustic, organic and elegant were our mantras for the flowers for Aissa’s and Joe’s reception at District Winery, as we created lush garlands of salal, silver dollar and seeded eucalyptus, accented with dahlias, astilbe, roses, and stock for practically every surface in sight! In addition to the garlands, we further adorned the room with clusters of greenery for the floor lanterns furnished by District Winery, as well as stemmed votive candles of varying heights and vases for displaying the bouquets.

What resulted was a warm, welcoming celebration of Aissa’s and Joe’s love – and we couldn’t have been happier to be part of it! Congratulations to Aissa and Joe!

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.

A night of mystery and masquerade — and the perfect way to fête the 10th anniversary of The Scout Guide Alexandria and the launch of Vol. 10! ✨

We loved adding our signature touch of floral drama to this year’s launch party at the Hotel Heron. From a moody and dramatic entrance piece to a flower-filled car, sculptural arrangements on cocktail tables and elevated bar arrangements casting feathered shadows and moody textures, this event let us play in a world of whimsy and wonder.

We’re proud to be part of a guide that champions small businesses and celebrates creativity in our community. Supporting local means investing in the makers, doers, and dreamers who make Alexandria vibrant — and The Scout Guide does just that, beautifully. Cheers to Vol. 10! Special thanks to Sarah and Claire for always being so supportive and encouraging.
