Chuppah with fall foliage at Decatur House wedding

As we stepped into the enchanting world of an autumn, this DC wedding at Decatur House filled our heart with excitement. Our bride Emma’s vision was clear – an elegant affair with muted blushes, pale pinks, and creams, capturing the essence of autumn romance.

Emma’s bridal bouquet became a work of art, an elegant French hand-tied masterpiece. We carefully selected Cafe Latte roses, pale pink Tsumugi and blush Juliet garden roses, ivory spray roses, and white ranunculus. Accents of autumn eucalyptus and burgundy maple foliage added a touch of seasonal charm. The bouquet cascaded gracefully with lush jasmine vine foliage, creating a stunning focal point. Wrapped in ivory double-faced satin ribbon, it was a true embodiment of elegance. For Andrew’s boutonniere, we chose a delicate white ranunculus blossom, accented with eucalyptus foliage. It was a perfect and cohesive match to the bride’s bouquet.

The chuppah took center stage during the wedding ceremony. Constructed with four dark wood poles, it supported a canopy of natural white silk dupioni. Overlaid with a rich profusion of fall foliage branches, including liquidambar, maple, fall eucalyptus and beech, it radiated with autumnal beauty. Accents of Shimmer roses, light pink spray roses, and cremons in blush and burnt orange hues added a touch of softness and romance.

The escort card table showcased a classic urn brimming with a lush, organic design. Fall branches and berries mingled with pastel sorbet-toned dahlias, cremon, roses, oakleaf or lacecap hydrangea, and peach stock. Delicate touches of persimmon added warmth and depth to the arrangement, creating a captivating focal point.

Each cocktail table was adorned with a petite gold julep cup, holding an arrangement of autumn eucalyptus, Maple Syrup roses, rosehips, and peach stock. The tables came alive with the vibrant colors and textures of the season, inviting guests to embrace the fall ambiance.

Half of the guest tables featured a gold Lita compote, showcasing a textured and loose mix of greens. Shades of burnt orange, deep red, pink, and peach blossoms intertwined with fall foliage and berries. Lush peach garden roses, terra cotta and coral roses, ivory spray roses, peach ranunculus, orange dahlia, peach stock, and ranunculus added a touch of romance. Delicate fruits such as pomegranate and persimmon added a whimsical element to the design, bringing the tablescape to life.

Candles played a pivotal role in creating a warm and intimate ambiance. Glass-enclosed blush taper candles stood proudly in gold candlesticks, forming an open triangle around the floral arrangements. Gold Athena candlesticks held petite white pillar candles, introducing an element of height and elegance.

As the day unfolded, love and beauty intertwined, creating cherished memories for a lifetime. The Decatur House served as the perfect backdrop for Emma and Andrew’s fall DC wedding, where romance and the splendor of autumn danced harmoniously. We were honored to be part of this joyous occasion, weaving our floral designs into the tapestry of love and celebration.

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
