Greg and Dennis embarked on a journey of timeless love with a classic Mayflower Hotel ceremony that epitomized sophistication and charm. The wedding was filled with exquisite detail, from the traditional ceremony to the opulent floral arrangements that adorned this iconic venue.

Classic Mayflower Hotel Setting

The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC is filled with allure and is the perfect backdrop for a classic wedding ceremony. With timeless architecture, historic architectural details and refined interiors, the Mayflower Hotel provided an enchanting setting that complemented the elegance of Greg and Dennis’ celebration.

Sophisticated Floral Accents

The grooms graced the occasion with pale pink Sweet Eskimo rose boutonnieres, each adorned with delicate touches of eucalyptus. A touch of class was added as the groomswomen carried lush, French hand-tied bouquets featuring white and blush roses, garden roses, mini-calla lilies, astilbe, and white stock, elegantly wrapped with gray satin ribbon.

Dramatic Mayflower Hotel Ceremony

Dramatic floral arrangements flanked the ceremony area on pedestals, creating a scene of grandeur and romance. A pristine white aisle runner, adorned with a simple satin ribbon seal, awaited the entrance of the wedding party. This simple yet classic touch added grace to the ceremony, setting the stage for a procession filled with love and tradition.

Creating Elegance at the Reception

The elegance continued into the reception with arrangements placed on glass cylinder vases. Classic, rounded designs of white hydrangea, stock, and roses adorned half of the dinner tables, while textured designs, incorporating Italian ruscus and silver dollar eucalyptus, graced the others.

Greg and Dennis’ classic Mayflower Hotel ceremony and following reception was a celebration of timeless love and refined elegance. From the iconic setting to the sophisticated floral accents, every detail spoke of a love story steeped in tradition and class.

Blooming branches – that harbinger of new beginnings, a flower whose very appearance serves as the epitaph to winter. But that sweet symbolism isn’t the only reason we love them!

Very few botanical elements feature both soft edges AND the jutting architecture of flowering branches. As floral designers, we adore the juxtaposition of soft, demure pastels with their sheer height and commanding presence. There’s just something about that that just screams wedding, don’t you think?

So don’t be afraid to branch out and get creative. Blooming branches look spectacular in weddings – in everything from ceremony arches to reception decor – and create a big impactful look.

It’s been a very long time since floral centerpieces were just flowers in a vase. Today’s centerpieces have multiple elements, loads of candles, things that have to be assembled and even built on-site. And yet the presumption persists that the florist is just going to show up with a box that can be left in the corner for someone else to place on the table.

Putting aside the fact that we take far more pride in our work than that… to say that we value logistics and planning is an understatement!! And logistics are truly our skill set. We can tell you how many man hours a particular installation will take and can design for efficiency. It’s truly our super power.

Most floral design relies on other things being in place. Not useful? “You can get into the room at this time.” Actually useful? “The bar you’re building that cascading piece on will in place no later than X o’clock.” But more than that? Start realizing that event demands are not what they used to be.

We were at the Willard InterContinental this past weekend setting up for Mari`s bridal shower. Think pink, gardeny, everything spring.⁣

The Crystal Room is always a lot of look. Those green marble columns, the chandeliers... and yet it`s so quintessentially DC! There`s something about that room that makes pink feel completely at home.⁣
⁣
It took us straight back to Sophia & Daniel`s wedding ceremony in the same space. Pink baby`s breath, roses, the whole thing. Two totally different events, same magic. Pink and the Crystal Room? We`re convinced it`s a love story. 💚🌸⁣
