Roseann and Mike had a beautiful, classic art gallery wedding at the Corcoran Gallery of Art this past March. The Corcoran is already a stunning building, originally designed by James Renwick to house a stellar collection of art and sculpture. And this particular day did not disappoint either! March has truly been “in like a lion” – but this was one of those rare lamb-like days we were treated to.
One of the things I vividly remember when meeting Rosann to discuss her wedding flowers was that she was certain she wanted roses for her bouquet – because she never gets them. I could tell she was someone who was not unfamiliar with flowers, but she could still see that roses were something special. Tulips, on the other hand, felt like something more typical. And so roses she had!
Both ceremony and reception took place at the museum. The ceremony decor was simple but elegant – two lush, classic designs of hydrangea, lilac and roses on gold glass vases which flanked the couple on pedestals.
The reception featured long tables dressed in a gold brocade linen. A rich display of white flowers – roses, hydrangea, stock, lilac, fringe and straight-edged tulips, and sweet pea – were housed in glass vases of varying heights. Interspersed with pillar candles, the flowers created a monochromatic “runner” extending down the length of the tables.
