Lindsay and Nicholas’ blush Sequoia wedding could not have been any more pretty in pink! It was a special wedding for us, as we designed the flowers for Nicholas’ sister’s wedding a couple of years ago. It is such an honor for us to work with families again and again! The luscious pale pink Keira garden roses, Cafe au Lait dahlia, and light pink spray roses set the tone for the day. We have a soft spot for shoes and bouquets that complement each other, and what a perfect match Lindsay’s bouquet was to her frilly, soft pink shoes!
The ceremony took place at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. We love how radiantly happy Lindsay is in all her photos! Only Lindsay’s father wore a boutonniere – a classic ivory rose. The bridesmaids wore the most romantic and ethereal, blush pink dresses, which matched the scheme of the day. In contrast to Lindsay’s bouquet, they carried roses, dahlia, spray roses and stock in classic white tones with blush accents.
The reception took place at Sequoia on the Georgetown waterfront. Low centerpieces graced the tables, keeping the feel intimate despite the two story windows and the dramatic blue sculpture suspended in the space.
For the cocktail tables, classic gold mint julep cups featured a simple pouf of white hydrangea. Dinner tables were centered with square gold ceramic vases, adding a modern twist. Each vase held a mix of white and pink hydrangea, roses, stock, lisianthus and dahlia, a pop of brighter pink coming from the center of the Mimi Eden spray roses. Garden roses and dahlia crowned the top of the cake with additional blooms strategically placed on the tiers. And for one of our favorite finishing touches, delicate wreaths of baby’s breath hung from blush satin ribbons on the backs of the bride’s and groom’s chairs. Everything here makes us blush for this Sequoia wedding!
