A wedding is a magical occasion, but what better way to add an extra touch of enchantment than by infusing it with inspiration from no less than Harry Potter? Imagine walking down the aisle amidst a sea of beautiful blooms, each reflecting the whimsy and wonder of the wizarding world. When your love story has a storybook perfect timeline, it would fit that Aja and Alexis were inspired to bring a Harry Potter-inspired wedding to life.
Hogwarts-Inspired Aisle
Aja and Alex began their wedding journey to your happily ever after by transforming their aisle into a whimsical path reminiscent of Hogwarts. The side of the aisle were adorned by floral arrangements featuring rich hues of red and gold, symbolizing the Gryffindor house. Trailing vines created a sense of ancient magic, while candlelit lanterns flickered, casting an ethereal glow. Walking down this enchanting aisle, the couple and guests felt as though they are entering the Great Hall itself.
Book-Specific References
There were references to the Harry Potter books throughout the wedding. From their personal attire, , that included cufflinks and socks inspired by Harry Potter, golden snitches and socks boasting a marauder’s map print, to garters that read “I solemnly swear I am up to no good” and “mischief managed”. Tables were named after popular locations, including Three Broomsticks and Hagrid’s Hut. A bird cage for cards was appropraitely labeled “Owl Post”. Signature drinks on the “Forbidden Forest” menu took names that sounded as much like they could be potions.
Whimsical Florals
The ballroom itself took inspiration from Harry Potter’s hidden forest, with bleached manzanita branches creating a little forest of its own, and each table featuring its own potion bottle.
