Laura and Michael transformed Union Market’s raw, industrial space into a urban garden for their Dock 5 wedding, complete with live trees for the early fall. The couple imagined the feel of an outdoor wedding without being exposed to the elements, and so they selected the raw, industrial space to truly bring the outdoors in.

The urban garden aesthetic for their Dock 5 wedding took an artistic twist, as the couple stood beneath a large chuppah of pastel pink and white faux flower petals designed by Philadelphia-based artist Carla Weeks. Laura carried an organic cascade bouquet of variegated ivy accented with delicate stephanotis blossoms. The flowers girls carried petite bouquets of baby’s breath with matching crowns to match the bride’s bouquet.

The garage doors remained open during the reception for this urban garden wedding at Dock5. Large trees were placed around the space. Drinks were served up at a bar covered in greenery to look like boxwood. A tableau of vintage wooden wine crates overflowing with flowers, moss and faux mushrooms holding each place card served as the escort card table. Magnolia branches in large glass vases were used as centerpieces. Finally, cream fabric draped on the walls and amber uplighting added some romance and texture to the space.

Industrial spaces have a beauty of their own, but the right floral design can take them from warehouse to urban garden. 🌿✨

For Laura & Michael’s Dock 5 wedding, we played with scale—tall magnolia branches to emphasize the height, lush florals to soften the space, and candlelight to add warmth. The result? An urban oasis that felt both grand and intimate.

1️⃣Go Big with Greenery – Tall magnolia branches brought height and movement to Laura & Michael’s Dock 5 wedding

2️⃣ Mix Textures – Lush, low floral arrangements softened the industrial edges while keeping the space dynamic

3️⃣ Layer Candlelight – Warm glows + metal details = a romantic urban oasis

4️⃣ Frame Key Spaces – A floral garland on the head table grounded the design and added intimacy. Trees flanking the table took it to the next level

5️⃣ Contrast is Key – Pairing the raw, industrial elements with soft florals and organic details created the perfect balance

Not all green and white floral palettes are created equal. This one here will NEVER go out of style and is truly as timeless as they come! Magnolia, eucalyptus, rosemary, and delicate touches of white… Add velvet linens and gold touches, and we’re smitten... 😍
