Winter Wonderland Wedding

Winter Wonderland Wedding

This past December we were pleased to work with Sara Muchnick of Engaging Affairs on Julie and Geoff’s gorgeous winter wonderland wedding! Everything from the linens to the flowers to the weather (!!) coordinated perfectly with the theme. It might have been a snowy day outside, but it was a perfect compliment to the decor inside!

Carnations were the flower of the night!  While carnations are often thought of as a cheap flower, used in this style – packed tightly together in long runners down the length of their rectangular tables – the carnations give only a feeling of luxe, modern, and in this case, wintery,  texture.  Accents of silver branches in white vases added to the wintery feel of the event.  The tables alternated between the carnation runners and the branch arrangements, which were also used for the ceremony decor.  For the placecard table, an orb of white carnations on a dramatic black hourglass vase added to the color theme of black and white.  And the black and white fondant cake rested on a snowy bed of packed white carnations. For the bride, a simple bouquet of white ranunculus and white roses helped round out the clean, modern feeling of the decor.  The bridesmaids carried black centered white anemone to round out the color scheme.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.

A night of mystery and masquerade — and the perfect way to fête the 10th anniversary of The Scout Guide Alexandria and the launch of Vol. 10! ✨

We loved adding our signature touch of floral drama to this year’s launch party at the Hotel Heron. From a moody and dramatic entrance piece to a flower-filled car, sculptural arrangements on cocktail tables and elevated bar arrangements casting feathered shadows and moody textures, this event let us play in a world of whimsy and wonder.

We’re proud to be part of a guide that champions small businesses and celebrates creativity in our community. Supporting local means investing in the makers, doers, and dreamers who make Alexandria vibrant — and The Scout Guide does just that, beautifully. Cheers to Vol. 10! Special thanks to Sarah and Claire for always being so supportive and encouraging.
