Rachel and Joe’s winter wedding at the Fairmont Hotel in DC was truly one of those simple, stunning weddings. It featured carefully chosen and impactful elements that created a cohesive whole across the entire event. Against a backdrop of soft greens and wintry grays, we stayed true to the couple’s wedding vision of warm blushes and burgundies. The striking December wedding had the perfect winter feel that any bride and groom would dream of. Rachel’s bridal bouquet was full of lush peonies, blush Kloni ranunculus, peach garden roses, Black Magic and Quickand roses and finished with wintry white astilbe, silver-hued dusty miller and sage eucalyptus foliage. The bouquet accented her gown beautifully. Also, who can pass up a classic Fairmont bridal party picture?
Ceremony in the Round
The Fairmont Hotel is the perfect location for this stunning winter wedding. The stunning Colonnade Room presents an opportunity for a cozy ceremony, with guests seated nearly in the round. We designed a simple gorgeous chuppah of elegant silver poles that supported a natural white silk duping canopy. An asymmetrical design of flowers accented the top left corner, replete with hydrangea, roses, spray roses, stock, and lisianthus in rich whites, champagnes and burgundies, and finished with gray and green foliages. To balance the design, a collection of pillar candles were placed at the bottom right.
A simple runner lined the aisle, leading the way to the chuppah. Arrangements on pedestals greeted guests at the entrance.
Winter Wedding Reception at the Fairmont Hotel
The classic space of the Fairmont doesn’t on its own need a lot of dressing up. For this winter wedding though, we knew the centerpieces had to feel textured and festive! We opted for classic silver bowls. The soft gray-green of dusty miller and eucalyptus foliages was peppered with an array of white and blush blooms with pops of deep red and burgundy. The recipe consisted of white hydrangea, blush stock, burgundy and blush roses, wispy touches of Queen Anne’s lace and dusty miller and eucalyptus foliage.
And we can toast to that! Wishing Rachel and Joe a long and happy marriage!
