Winter Meridian House Wedding

Winter Meridian House Wedding

Tara and Borden’s winter wedding took place at Dahlgren Chapel with a reception following at Meridian House. Though it’s not the most popular time of year to get married, winter weddings are some of our favorites. Tara’s bouquet embraced the best of the season, with rich green camellia and soft sage seeded eucalyptus foliage accenting a wintry palette of white peonies, ranunculus, roses, gardenia and freesia. Light pink sweet pea provided a blush of warmth to the seasonally inspired bouquet. Borden’s boutonniere matched Tara’s bouquet, using an ivory rose and seeded eucalyptus. The mothers chose their own floral accessory – one opting for a posy of ivory roses and spray roses and the other a corsage of the same flowers attached to her purse. A single dramatic arrangement in whites, pinks and greens was placed in front of the altar.

Stately black lanterns created a grand entrance for guests as they arrived at Meridian House, the set of three large lanterns accompanied by smaller ones. It provided a welcome candlelit glow to the rainy day. We love when people provide containers of personal meaning for their wedding. In this case, it was a family silver punch bowl, which held a striking design on the escort card table. We filled the punch bowl with white hydrangea, peonies, ranunculus, roses, and spray roses accented with seeded eucalyptus and camellia. The cocktail tables held metallic-finish mint julep cups – either gold, silver, or mercury glass – with petite designs of white hydrangea and camellia greens accented with burgundy hypericum berries. Adding to the seasonal bliss, a mistletoe balls was suspended from the doors between the foyer and loggia. For the reception tables, a gold glass bowl held a loose and unstructured design of white hydrangea, ranunculus, roses, spray roses, and freesia with burgundy hypericum berries, light pink sweet pea, and lush camellia and seeded eucalyptus greens providing color. The sweetheart table featured a similar but smaller design. White ranunculus and ivory spray roses accented with emerald greens cascaded elegantly down one side of the cake.

MOODY ROMANCE ✨ Daryn & Kelsey’s wedding last weekend was the definition of moody romance. A room glowing in candlelight, black linens setting the stage for elevated greenery hedges kissed 💋 with baby’s breath and dreamy hanging glass globes cradling flickering votives. Black and deep plum tapers paired with glass chimneys added a touch of drama, while the sweetheart table gave our couple the place of honor, accented with lush greenery and flowers in soft mauve and blush.

Every detail felt like it was straight out of a modern fairytale. 🖤 🤍 ✨ What’s your favorite part of this stunning set up?
