A Classic DC Love Story

A fun couple with an obvious passion for life, Morgan and Brian met in classic DC love story fashion, as our Hungry Lobbyist blogger and FamousDC editor explored the potential for collaboration. Simple, yet striking, florals characterized their gorgeous outdoor wedding at the Woodrow Wilson House.

The wedding included traditional and modern elements, including a Catholic mass at Immaculate Conception Church and an open-air reception at the Woodrow Wilson House in Embassy Row. Simple orchids were centered on the table while twinkle lights lit up the garden as the classic DC love story wedding reception descended into night.

Amy & Reuben’s wedding photos are here, and I forgot how much I loved this palette! White flowers, loads of green, and black woven through just enough to make everything feel a little sharper.⁣

We used anemones, ranunculus, roses, sweet pea and stock, with big, loose greenery moments throughout the room. It was springy without being pastel, classic without feeling too traditional, and so much fun to see all together at the Park Hyatt.⁣

Oh, Monaco. We’ve had some fun in this room.

We’ve filled it with color. We’ve kept it classic. We’ve brought in trees, hung flowers overhead, gone wild with candlelight and designed more iterations of this ballroom than we could possibly share in one post.

And somehow, we’re still not tired of it!

One of our favorite things about working in a space again and again is figuring out how to help our couples make it feel personal. Same room. New couple. New flowers. New party.
