Anne and Kyle’s vision was immediate and clear when we met to discuss their wedding: a romantic feel in soft pastel greens, lavenders and blues while also incorporating earthy, garden touches to reflect their love of cooking. Their venue was the perfect place to realize a wildflower Meadowlark wedding
Anne’s bouquet featured white peonies, lavender roses and scabiosa, purple stock, light blue delphinium and light pink astilbe accented with dusty miller and herbal touches of rosemary and lavender. The mix of textures epitomized the wildflower Meadowlark wedding feel. Her bridesmaids’ bouquets were similar in texture, with hints of white to contrast with their dresses. Kyle’s boutonniere complemented the bouquets using delphinium and rosemary.
The traditional church ceremony was following by a reception at Meadowlark Botanical Garden. It is truly a site which brings the outdoors in, with the atrium space a unique site in the area. The reception included a mix of two designs to create a wildflower Meadowlark wedding vibe. Dramatic, apothecary-style jars were filled with miniature potted herbs and loose, garden designs in shades of purple, blue and gray. The balance of the tables held a “kitchen garden” of a mix of herbs – basil, rosemary, thyme, and mint. A sprig of rosemary or lavender greeted guests as they arrived at the table, placed on each napkin. A long, rectangular window box-style container graced a table which held escort cards as guests arrived and served as the final thank you as they left the site. A lush design of white hydrangea, purple stock, lavender scabiosa and roses, and blue delphinium finished with a mix of garden herbs filled the container, which spanned the length of the back of the table.
