There is nothing more classic for a spring wedding than white and green. And what better place to celebrate a timeless vibe than the Wharf Intercontinental DC? With reception spaces dressed in neutral hues, nothing could be more in sync. Since its opening in 2018, the Wharf Intercontinental DC has become a sought after wedding location. With huge windows in the reception rooms and breathtaking views of the river, we can easily see why.
Meghan and Jacob got married at the Wharf Intercontinental DC last spring. In keeping with their aesthetic, we created a classic and simple green and white floral palette with an abundance of gold accents. Meghan carried the most classic bouquet of white and ivory roses and spray roses. Playing off the bridesmaids’ blush dresses, they each carried bouquets of roses, stock, ranunculus and waxflower accented with ruscus foliage. Following a traditional ceremony at St. Anthony of Padua Church, the celebration continued at the Wharf Intercontinental DC for the wedding.
As flower focused as the bouquets were, the reception expressed an elegance meets rustic aesthetic, with greenery playing a leading role for the decor. A lush greenery garland extended the length of the head table, accented with white roses and spray roses and finished with elegant white taper candles in gold candlesticks. The guest tables in the ballroom alternated between elevated designs atop gold Harlow stands of lush camellia, eucalyptus, and salal foliage accented with touches of white larkspur, stock and spray roses. The balance of the tables featured a gold Lita compote filled with classic white blooms – hydrangea, stock, roses and lisianthus, complemented with lemon leaf and ruscus foliage.
Meghan and Jacob – thank you for entrusting us with your vision! We wish you the best in your marriage.
