Wedding at The George

The George of Old Town is a fully renovated historic home in Old Town Alexandria. Once belonging to George Washington, the house is available for rent, making it a stunning option for your “intimate day”. A beautiful entryway, staircase, stylishly appointed rooms, and a back patio make it a lovely choice for a small wedding at The George – especially with room for all of your nearest and dearest to stay as well. Sharing our recent late summer wedding at The George today!

Carine & Justin’s Wedding

Getting married in the midst of a pandemic is not easy, but by following local guidelines and reducing guest counts, Carine and Justin’s wedding at The George was as magical as any. As guests arrived for the intimate ceremony, the back of the aisle featured a design full of lush cream and mauve blooms making for a grand entrance to the intimate space. The palette for the wedding was a unique combination, perfect for late summer. The floral palette featured Cafe au Lait dahlia, Purple Moon and Amnesia roses, delicate smokebush, pampas grass and lots of eucalyptus and olive leaf foliages. Carine’s bouquet featured creamy white dahlia and garden roses accented with Cafe au Lait, while Justin wore the most simple and elegant boutonniere of olive leaf foliage. The ceremony itself was set with a lush, deconstructed arch flanking the wooden gate in the brick-enclosed patio. Lemon leaf, ruscus, smokebush and olive leaf were finished with white and mauve roses and spray roses, with pampas grass plumes creating a dramatic finish to the design.

A night of mystery and masquerade — and the perfect way to fête the 10th anniversary of The Scout Guide Alexandria and the launch of Vol. 10! ✨

We loved adding our signature touch of floral drama to this year’s launch party at the Hotel Heron. From a moody and dramatic entrance piece to a flower-filled car, sculptural arrangements on cocktail tables and elevated bar arrangements casting feathered shadows and moody textures, this event let us play in a world of whimsy and wonder.

We’re proud to be part of a guide that champions small businesses and celebrates creativity in our community. Supporting local means investing in the makers, doers, and dreamers who make Alexandria vibrant — and The Scout Guide does just that, beautifully. Cheers to Vol. 10! Special thanks to Sarah and Claire for always being so supportive and encouraging.
