A wedding at the Daughters of the American Revolution headquarters is hard to beat for that class vibe, especially when peonies are involved! Our sweet brides – yes, brides, plural! – wanted a romantic scheme of whites with small touches of pink, with peonies a must have. It helped that Kristi and Robyn completely trust our vision. And as a result, it is on of our favorite weddings at the O’Byrne Gallery at DAR headquarters. The timeless garden aesthetic reflected the best of spring. Kristi and Robyn each carried elegant bouquets in a timeless palette of whites and greens. White peonies, roses, spray roses and lisianthus were arranged with Italian ruscus and wrapped in ivory double-faced satin ribbon in a criss-cross design. The bridesmaids’ bouquets featured roses, stock, lisianthus and Italian ruscus in a complementary style.
Ceremony on the Portico
Ceremonies at the Daughters of the American Revolution building, also known as DAR, is one of those things where less is more. With the Washington monument in the distance, you don’t want to block the view! Two classic gold urns held lush, garden designs of hydrangea, stock, roses and spray roses, and lisianthus in shades of white and ivory with the palest blush pink were finished with eucalyptus and lemon leaf foliage.
Classic Summer Reception
At the reception, the bouquets did double-duty, standing at attention on the DAR’s gorgeous fireplace! Simple gold mercury compotes grades the tables. Lush and textured designs of white orlaya, ivory and pale pink roses, ivory spray roses, white stock, and white lisianthus spilled from the bowls, finished with variegated pitt nigra, Italian ruscus foliage and wisps of green sword fern. Twinkling light from adjacent candles added to the romantic effect.
We truly appreciate the opportunity to help create Kristi and Robyn’s exquisite wedding at the Daughters of the American Revolution
celebration. Congratulations!
