Melissa and Greg’s perfectly Virginia garden wedding at River Farm featured pink and gray details that were carried through perfectly with spring pink flowers, gray succulents, and milk glass and mercury glass containers that perfectly suited the blooming cherry blossoms and the charm of River Farm. It was a garden affair full of so many beautiful moments; kissing under blossoming cherry trees, fur babies mixed into the festivities and all with a layer of crazy gorgeous florals.
April is the perfect time for a wedding in the Washington, DC area, since the weather is just that little bit cooler and gorgeous spring blooms abound. Melissa and Greg began their day with a ceremony at historic St. Mary’s in Old Town Alexandria. The Virginia garden wedding reception was just a short drive down the road to River Farm, also home to the American Horticultural Society. What better venue for a garden wedding! River Farm is especially stunning in the spring, with it’s blooming garden sand beautiful views of the Potomac.
The palette embraced soft pinks, champagne, and grays for a spring look. The groom and groomsmen wore grey suits and ties for a classic look. The flowers looked just picked from the garden, with textures created by hydrangea, roses, peonies, ranunculus and succulents for a touch of whimsy. A vintage vibe was created with lace overlays and milk glass and mercury glass vessels.
