It’s always fun when one of our weddings lands on the cover of Washingtonian Bride & Groom magazine! We have some lovely outdoor spots in Alexandria for a wedding reception, but none more lovely than the classically styled house and garden that serves as the headquarters for the American Horticultural Society. Meghan and Adam’s vintage River Farm wedding ceremony took place at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, followed by a reception at garden venue. For her color palette, the bride chose pale pinks and whites, with a loose, vintage look. For the bouquets, simplicity was the key. White and pink peonies, accented with trailing jasmine vine made up the striking bridal bouquet, with simple white ranunculus for the bridesmaids bouquets.
The vintage River Farm wedding reception featured composite arrangements using our eclectic collection of mercury and milk glass containers. Flowers were loose and elegant, with a textured rustic and vintage feel. Flowers included ranunculus, Queen Anne’s lace, spray roses, hydrangea, ivy, peonies and stock in shades of pink and white with accents of green. The decor even included a unique magnolia garland, strung between the bride and groom’s chair, but with a secret separation so that the newlyweds appeared to share a chair all night!
