Eggplant and orange with bright touches of fuchsia created a jeweled, vibrant and modern backdrop for Monica and Tommie’s glamorous fall wedding. Late November is the only time of year that bittersweet vine – which creates a rustic fall, yet modern, tall centerpiece – is readily available, so the wedding was perfectly timed for this glamorous look!
Monica’s bouquet was designed using ‘High and Happy’ roses, eggplant mini-calla lilies, purple stock and lisianthus accented with hot pink ranunculus and finished with a delicate net of gold monofilament wire. Her maid of honor carried a simple design of orange roses and mango mini-calla lilies that contrasted with her purple dress.
Four dramatic arrangements of bittersweet vine on two different height pedestals framed the ceremony area and created a grand entrance to the aisle. Both sides of the aisle were lined with chair posies of roses, stock and callas in purple, orange and fuchsia hues.
The reception was at once rustic and modern in feel. A dramatic gold manzanita branch seated in purple stock, orange roses and spray roses, and hot pink ranunculus greeted guests at the escort card table. Half the reception tables featured tall, square glass vases with naturally spraying and draping orange bittersweet berried branches. The balance of the tables held floating candles.
The cake proved a true show stopper. With a dramatic cascade of spray roses in orange and hot pink descending down one side of the cake, it was almost too pretty to eat!
