Traditional Alexandria Wedding

Traditional Alexandria Wedding

Alexandra and Steven ‘s wedding as the epitome of a traditional Alexandria wedding. From the traditional ceremony setting at Christ Church, one of the oldest churches in Old Town Alexandria, to the reception at Mount Vernon Inn on George Washington’s estate, the wedding spelled classic from touch to finish. Alexandra’s long-sleeve lace gone exuded classic Grace Kelley vibes, while Steven looked dashing in his Marine Corp dress uniform. Florals embraced a delicate blush and dove gray palette. Classic done oh-so-right.

The bridal bouquet featured the best of spring. The loosely styled, garden bouquet featured peonies and Juliet garden roses, spring touches of lilac, light pink ranunculus and sweet pea, and frilly white astilbe with delicate strands of jasmine vine. The bridesmaids’ bouquets held similar hues, pairing with the dove gray dresses.

A traditional Alexandria wedding altar design flanked the ceremony area, situated on the two window sills. The two small windows featured a similar palate, designed so they could be repurposed on the fireplace mantels for the reception.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.

A night of mystery and masquerade — and the perfect way to fête the 10th anniversary of The Scout Guide Alexandria and the launch of Vol. 10! ✨

We loved adding our signature touch of floral drama to this year’s launch party at the Hotel Heron. From a moody and dramatic entrance piece to a flower-filled car, sculptural arrangements on cocktail tables and elevated bar arrangements casting feathered shadows and moody textures, this event let us play in a world of whimsy and wonder.

We’re proud to be part of a guide that champions small businesses and celebrates creativity in our community. Supporting local means investing in the makers, doers, and dreamers who make Alexandria vibrant — and The Scout Guide does just that, beautifully. Cheers to Vol. 10! Special thanks to Sarah and Claire for always being so supportive and encouraging.
