Is there anything more classic than a lush, green and white wedding? We we first met, Annemarie described her look as natural, timeless, elegant, soft and romantic. And that’s what we delivered! It was the most beautiful day in September when Annemarie and Cooper were wed at Woodlawn and Pope-Leighey House in Alexandria, VA. The timeless Woodlawn wedding featured lush greens, white blossoms, and touches of copper and gold throughout.
Our bride carried a stunning statement piece, filled with dahlias, roses and spray roses, astrantia and lisianthus in classic white finished with a mix of eucalyptus and ruscus for a lush and abundant look. Her wedding party, clad in the most elegant copper gowns, carried simpler smaller versions of Annemarie’s bouquet.
The ceremony took place before the Georgian style house at Woodlawn, the copper-poled arch picking up on the natural brick red-orange hues of the building in the distance. Two floor standing urns flanked the entrance to the aisle, each filled with abundant texture – cocculus, salal and eucalyptus foliages accented with white stock, ivory spray roses, and white lisianthus. Delicately poised on the arch were organic installations of ruscus foliage with pops of white roses and dahlia to complete the simple and sweet ceremony backdrop.
This natural and organic aesthetic continued into the tent for the timeless Woodlawn wedding reception, where a mix of designs were placed on the tables. Gold lanterns were ringed with lush greens and pops of white for half of the tables, while a gold Revere bowl centered the remainder.
