Jane and Ethan celebrated their union with a timeless and elegant wedding at the historic Mayflower Hotel in Washington DC. Their classic nuptials were a perfect blend of sophistication and romance, creating an unforgettable day filled with love and joy.

The day began with a morning ceremony at the LDS Temple, setting the tone for the rest of the festivities. Jane, the stunning bride, carried an exquisite cascading bridal bouquet of white phalaenopsis orchids, adding a touch of natural elegance to her ensemble. The bridesmaids complemented her with simple yet beautiful bouquets featuring ivory roses and spray roses, accented with dusty miller foliage for a touch of silvery softness.

As the day transitioned into evening, the festivities continued in the grandeur of the Mayflower Hotel’s Grand Ballroom. The reception exuded opulence, with long tables featuring lush and elegant floral garlands of white hydrangea, roses, spray roses, stock, and phalaenopsis orchids. These arrangements spanned the length of the 16-foot tables, creating a visually stunning and cohesive design that perfectly complemented the classic ambiance of the venue.

To further enhance the overall aesthetic, round tables were adorned with silver footed, mercury glass bowls. These centerpieces were lush and abundant, showcasing a blend of white hydrangea, roses, stock, spray roses, lisianthus, and dusty miller. The arrangements were thoughtfully accented with white phalaenopsis orchids, adding texture and movement to the design.

Jane and Ethan’s Mayflower Hotel wedding was a celebration of love and sophistication, captured in every detail. It’s been a very long time since floral centerpieces were just flowers in a vase. Today’s centerpieces have multiple elements, loads of candles, things that have to be assembled and even built on-site. And yet the presumption persists that the florist is just going to show up with a box that can be left in the corner for someone else to place on the table.

Putting aside the fact that we take far more pride in our work than that… to say that we value logistics and planning is an understatement!! And logistics are truly our skill set. We can tell you how many man hours a particular installation will take and can design for efficiency. It’s truly our super power.

Most floral design relies on other things being in place. Not useful? “You can get into the room at this time.” Actually useful? “The bar you’re building that cascading piece on will in place no later than X o’clock.” But more than that? Start realizing that event demands are not what they used to be.

The Crystal Room is always a lot of look. Those green marble columns, the chandeliers... and yet it`s so quintessentially DC! There`s something about that room that makes pink feel completely at home.⁣
⁣
It took us straight back to Sophia & Daniel`s wedding ceremony in the same space. Pink baby`s breath, roses, the whole thing. Two totally different events, same magic. Pink and the Crystal Room? We`re convinced it`s a love story. 💚🌸⁣

Meridian House is one of those venues that makes people fall in love the second they see it. The gardens, the historic rooms, the feeling that you`ve stumbled onto this beautiful hidden place in the middle of Washington. It is such a privilege to design there.⁣

For Erica & Matt, the goal was to keep the flowers feeling like an eloquent dinner party. We filled the tables with hydrangea, stock, roses and spray roses, and lisianthus and lots and lots of candles so the rooms felt alive and welcoming the moment guests walked in. I remember stepping back once everything was set and thinking how light the whole space felt — like spring had simply decided to move inside for the evening.⁣

And when Erica & Matt walked in and saw the room for the first time? The smiles said everything.⁣
